When companies are thriving, slowing down can be hard and even damaging to the success of the business.
Such was the situation with IT'SUGAR, which includes 20 stores plus 15 attractions in such locations as FAO Schwartz and Toys R Us Times Square.
When he joined IT'SUGAR, IT Manager Butch Smith was faced with the need to continue maintaining the 50 percent growth rate that the company was experiencing and even accelerating it, so he called on POSitive Technology, a POS solutions company, for assistance.
"Our bread and butter runs from June through September, comprising nearly 50 percent of our business, while Christmas gift purchases are becoming an increasingly larger share of annual sales," Smith said in a press release. "Because of that seasonality, there is a lot of variability in what sells at different times of the year, so our focus is less on inventory turns and more on the new lines we bring in."
With the help of POSitive Technology, Smith was able to maintain the company's rate of sales, save money and cut down the time it takes to train new system operators to a mere 10 minutes.
"Training operators is easy – an important consideration for a chain opening locations as far away as the Cayman Islands," Smith said. "Hands down, the best feature is how it’s incredibly user-friendly.
